What are some human factors causing mudslides in Guatemala?
The absence of trees has contributed a lot. Villagers cut trees down to make room for their crops, and use for firewood. It leaves room for the mud to slide right in.

What is being done to help reduce mudslides and mudslide damage?
They're going to plant more trees, especially pine trees on the mountainsides. It will soak up the rain, and the sliding mud will not pull up the trees' roots.
